In our “What’s Cookin?” series, we focus on easy camping meals your whole family will love! Campsite cooking doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, cooking meals for my family is one of my favorite parts of camping! In this series, we will cover a wide variety of entrees and side dishes, snacks and desserts! We will also cover methods for cooking, preparing, and storing food. Lastly, we will cover the methods of preparing fish either at home or the campsite. In this episode of “What’s Cookin?” we cover one of our go to meals at the campsite, SpaghettiO’s. But we do it Kemp Outside style! As we often say, camping meals don’t have to be difficult or fancy. SpaghettiO’s are great when you need a hot meal fast. It is common for us to drive 8 to 10 hours to get to our camping spot. Once we do, we work hard to get set up before dark and once that is done, all we want is an easy camping meal.
Whether you want to cook it over a campfire or on a camping stove, SpaghettiO’s are very fast and easy. Kids already love SpaghettiO’s, but a fun twist, especially for little kids, is when you mix SpaghettiO’s with Meatballs and SpaghettiO’s with Franks! For some reason kids think that’s fun! OK, we admit we do too.
Don’t just stop with mixing cans, you can cut up andouille sausage, add oyster crackers or bring packets of parmesan or mozzarella cheese.
