Hiking Tumbled Rocks Trail

Hiking Tumbled Rocks Trail is a great way to see Devil’s Lake State Park! A two mile trek, this trail is paved the whole way and winds through amazing boulder fields that go right down to the surface of Devil’s Lake.  The trail stretches from one end of the lake to the other, and is a good option to travel from one picnic area of the park to the other.

Though it is paved, the trail isn’t wide.  This is due to the meandering route through the boulder fields.  For families with young children in strollers, hiking tumbled rocks trail is doable for a singe stroller, but not a side by side.  Unfortunately many parts of the trail are probably not wide enough for wheelchairs. But if you are mobility impaired, don’t let that stop you from visiting Devil’s Lake State Park! Just sitting by the lake is a great way to get outside!

There is very little elevation change on this trail making it an easy choice for folks who struggle on more difficult trails.  The park also offers several trails that explore the cliffs overlooking the lake.  These trails are also a worthwhile hike if you are up for it.

Hiking is a great way to get outside and explore nature.  It’s also a terrific way to get some exercise and get your kids to put down their electronic devices.  Don’t forget to check out our other hiking adventures!
