Fort De Soto Park near St. Petersburg, Florida is an awesome place to visit. The campground has three distinct areas with different requirements. Area 1 is suitable for vans, popups and tents and does not allow pets. Area 2 is suitable for all camping units including RVs and camper trailers and does allow pets and Area 3 is suitable for all camping units but pets are not allowed. There is plenty to see and do at Fort De Soto! On a barrier island at the mouth of Tampa Bay at the tip of Pinellas County, this park has award winning beaches, fantastic fishing, ferry service to Egmont Key and Shell Key, an amazing dog park and dog beach, kayaking, and a huge boat ramp! Visiting the fort is a great way to experience a piece of Florida history. And the campground offers a terrific place to stay. You just may never want to leave!
